Building a Community Who Works for Everyone

Affordability: Expanding Housing Options for Every Resident
We must take bold, practical steps to address the rising cost of living by increasing the supply of housing at all price points. That means supporting smart growth strategies like mixed-use and mixed-income developments that create vibrant, livable communities. By encouraging a wider range of housing options, we can stabilize prices, reduce displacement, and ensure that working families, seniors, and young professionals all have access to homes they can afford.

Transportation & Traffic: Making Growth Pay for Itself
Our region’s infrastructure is under strain, in part because of the more than 220,000 daily visitors who rely on our roads. It’s time for Orange County to receive a fairer share of the gas tax revenue we send to Tallahassee and to ensure tourism dollars are reinvested into our transportation system. By aligning Transportation Development Tax (TDT) priorities with local needs, we can make sure visitors contribute to the impacts they create. Instead of expanding roadways endlessly, we should prioritize efficient, forward-looking solutions like Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and SunRail to reduce congestion and improve mobility.

Protecting Our Environment: Smart Growth That Preserves What Matters
Protecting our natural resources starts with respecting the voter-approved rural boundary and directing growth where infrastructure already exists. By focusing development within our urban service area, we can reduce sprawl, safeguard wetlands, and preserve critical wildlife habitats. Pairing this approach with investments in mass transit ensures that growth is both sustainable and responsible. We can accommodate new residents while maintaining the environmental integrity that makes our community such a special place to live.
